WHEN FEAR HAUNTS

Photo: Haunted

Come this way

follow the sound of footfalls

on the red carpet of dry leaves;

Did you hear the crisp voices

welcoming you?

Keep walking

distance yourself from the branches

crawling behind you;

they will pull you to the ground

and make you crawl too.

Ignore the stream passing alongside;

it is where the evil spirits reside.

They take captive the human hearts

and dance to their beats:

ghoulish performing arts.

Make a quick move while crossing

the bridge of death;

it may gift you your precious,

last breath.

Traverse the garden of unfulfilled desires;

beware of them, they all are liars.

Now

greet the ruins of your chutzpah

that are waiting for you;

Define your trudge to them,

and

THEY WILL DEFINE YOU.

    Mysterious and deep, with a beauty of looking closely, at what most of us face, fear. Thank you Kavita.
